“Make + Take” Native Plant Container Garden Did you know that many native plants can grow very happily together in a container? Gather with us to build a beautiful little habitat to bring home. We’ll chat a bit about spacing, structure, watering, and organizing plants to make it not only a great mini-habitat but pleasing to our eyes as well. We will send you on your way around Blue Stem to find the best plants for your container…we’ll be there to help. Lastly, you will plant your native plant container garden and then bring it home to water and enjoy! Date: Wednesday, July 26, 2023 @5pm OR Saturday, July 29, 2023 @10am Length: Whatever you make of it! We’ll chat containers for ten minutes and then send you to pick out the best plants. Cost: $36 per person Included: • 5 gallons of Organic Mechanics Container Blend Potting Soil. Has excellent drainage properties, yet holds moisture well. Does NOT include peat. Does contain compost, pine bark, coir, worm castings and rice hulls. • One 5 gallon Boxer Brown Fabric Pot. Made with strong, breathable fabric made from recycled water bottles and featuring an industrial lockstitch technique with finished seams, the synthetic blend of PET materials in the Boxer Brown pouches will stay tough season after season. UV resistant, BPA free, Non-degradable. Root Pouch plant pots used reclaimed plastic bottles that would otherwise end up in landfills. Using recycled plastic requires no new plastic to be made, which saves on petroleum and uses no fossil fuels. • Printed color coded lists of the best New England native plants for containers. • (1) 1.25 quart plant ($10.50 value) and you add the rest... • 10% off of any plants you choose for your container. PLEASE NOTE that plants are not included in the base cost as we want to allow people to choose what they would like to spend. • 10% off of any trading post items on the day of the event.
