Plant information

Wild Geranium is an easily grown wildflower that blooms in the spring and typically dies back a bit as the hot summer rolls in.

Plant alongside later blooming plants such as asters and gentians to help hide the spent blooms and foliage. Equally at home in woodlands as well as full sun, wild geranium will be a bee and butterfly magnet with 27 species of lepidoptera visiting the pink-purple flowers.

Fun Fact: Geranium maculatum has an interesting way of spreading its seeds. You can see this mechanism in the last photo, as it dries it flings the seeds away from the plant.
