Plant information

Quickly becoming a Blue Stem Natives favorite, this charming little sedge prefers full sun and drier conditions but is very adaptable. Wet soil, average soil, part sun, no problem. Often found naturally in rocky soils and dunes.

 

The seeds of this sedge are enjoyed by birds such as sparrows and longspurs. 

 

The seeds require cold, moist stratification, either direct sown outdoors in the fall or kept in moist sand in the refrigerator for at least 60 days.
