This pink blooming grass thrives in dry to average soils and fun to part sun. Growing to roughly 3’ tall, plan to have this behind shorter species in your garden. It’s a rare plant in New England and is on the decline here.
This genus “Muhlenbergia” was named after a famed botanist, Gotthilf Heinrich Ernst Muhlenberg. And with all due respect to Mr. Muhlenberg, this species could use a PR specialist to help come up with some new common names.
