Geranium carolinianum
Carolina cranesbill
Geranium carolinianum forms low clumps, typically reaching about 1-2 feet tall, prefering well-drained soils and part sun to full sun. Its nectar-rich flowers attract a variety of pollinators like bees, including the common eastern bumblebee (Bombus impatiens), and various species of butterflies.
Carolina crane’s-bill is known for being deer-resistant, making it a good choice for areas with high browsing pressure. It’s also an excellent choice for naturalizing or stabilizing soil in disturbed areas, as it can spread slowly and help reduce erosion.
Plants can be purchased in-person or online (with in-person pick-up).
