Chamaecrista nictitans (wild sensitive pea)
We love native annuals, they fill in the spaces in your garden while the slower perennials fill in! Sensitive pea thrives in well-drained soil, particularly in areas that get plenty of sun. The plant itself has a low, spreading habit, often forming dense patches that add texture to your garden or meadow.
This plant is a host plant for the caterpillars of the Little Sulphur butterfly (Eurema lisa). It's an important nectar source for butterflies and bees and plays a vital role in supporting local pollinator populations.
